This sweet guitar was built by local luthier Andy Bennet out of his shop in Manitou Springs. Awesome signature design elements that blend classical and steel-string aesthetics to yield a visually and sonically pleasing, one of a kind instrument. Please reach out with any questions. From Andy Bennett:
I finished building this "MM" Series guitar in April of 2024. Action is excellent and the voice of the guitar is strong and crisp with a good balance of bass, mid range and trebles. The top is Lutz Spruce, the sides and back are Koa with Ebony bindings, and the neck is laminated mahogany with double acting truss rod. The "Port" in the upper bout side is my signature "Fleur de Lis" design. Fingerboard and peg head overlay are East Indian Rosewoodwith a "Fleur de Lis" design in Mother of Pearl on the peg head and teardrop inlays on the fingerboard. Bridge is Brazilian Rosewood, and the top and sound hole purfling is "Corral Snake" by Michael Gurian.
The finish is a wipe-on Watco Danish oil. The size of the instrument is very similar to a "Torres" classical shape. The top is custom-braced with a bent brancing pattern that I have been developing for the past 10 years. The tuners are Gotoh 510 chrome mini's. The scale is 25.4" with 14 frets to the body, 22 frets oberall and the nut width is 1 11/16".
Hard-shell case included.
